This week, Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited (SUHL) welcomed Mark Ocitti Ongom as new Chief Executive an appointment that marks both a homecoming and a strategic step forward for the organisation.
Mark joins SUHL with more than three decades of multi-sector leadership experience across East Africa’s most competitive industries, including oil, telecommunications, FMCG, and social enterprise. His arrival reinforces SUHL’s tradition of appointing leaders with both commanding presence and deep operational expertise.

Mark’s career reflects a rare blend of strategic discipline and commercial agility. His leadership roles at East African Breweries Ltd, Serengeti Breweries, Uganda Breweries Ltd, and Bharti Airtel International shaped his reputation as a change agent with a strong bias for performance, teamwork, and inclusion. Most recently, he served as President of Sanku, a social enterprise combating hidden hunger across Sub‑Saharan Africa.
Working alongside SUHL Chairman Magunda, Baker and a strong governance team, Mark brings a leadership philosophy rooted in ethical influence, data‑driven decision‑making, and community impact.
